Ported to Drupal for the Open Source Community by Drupalizing, a Project of More than Themes
I think I will eventually do a commercial survival horror sci-fi FPS - I have some ideas for a Derelict prequel that I don't think have been done before in any game ever - but that won't be for awhile now.
The reasons for doing the remake as a freeware project at all are:
- I want to honour the original game with a fitting modernisation, as well as to introduce more people to the original
- I want to expand my game portfolio, and this one shouldn't take to long to do as I already know the original inside out so design decisions will be minimal!
- It's going to be used as a test-bed for my new 3D level editor, the Earok Engine as well as for experimenting with effects such as smoke and shadows.
